Where are all my layouts of Mexico? where oh where?
It is taking me awhile to sift through my photos to find the right ones to scrap. There are lots of BabyOfTheFamily....and that's about it. The teenagers are in the "take a picture of my hand" phase....aka. MOM! Don't take my picture! or....DELETE THAT! I look ugly!
Here is a sample of what I am dealing with....some photos of DramaQueen over the past few months of special occasions....
Introducing.....THE HAND
|
The Halloween Pumpkin Carving HAND |
|
The Christmas Eve HAND |
|
Opening Presents on Christmas Day HAND |
|
Happy Birthday to you (Jan 5 2012) HAND |
|
How about a photo with your Uncle who is visiting us from Nicaragua? HAND |
But I'm an optimist, and I think, hey...when we get to Mexico, the teens will be so RELAXED and beg me to take photos of their tans, their beach bods....
And here's what I got....the SANDY HAND.....
After much perseverance, I managed these two lovely shots....
|
I consider myself lucky that I got 3 fingers....instead of one. |
|
Hmmmm....like mother like daughter?? |
These photos frustrated me so much that I had to self-medicate....while lounging on the beach...
|
(not my photo....and sadly, not my drinks either) |
And this is why I cannot do something like Project 365....a photo a day? yeah....right.
I think I'm going to plot my revenge....and for DramaQueen's next birthday, I will give her a mini album, titled..."A Year in the Life of Your Hand."
LOL! I chuckled all the way through this post. I'd say you got the last laugh, Kelly. Love all these fun pics of DQ and the hand. Perhaps you should have offered her a few of those tropical libations....Now, those would have relaxed her. Or maybe you had the right idea after all. Just keep those for yourself! Great post.
ReplyDeleteToo funny Kelly and sadly too true! LOL! I have several of these kinds of photos, not to mention the "eye rolling" photos!
ReplyDeleteLol!!! This is so funny!!! I am lucky both my girls are seriously in love with being the centre of attention!!
ReplyDeleteThese photos crack me up, Kelly! I must threaten my kids better than you! LOL!! I am so glad you had a great time on vacation, and I love looking at your daughter's hand! :)
ReplyDeletealicia
Thanks for the Friday fun and giggles! Way too funny. Love the "sandy" hand!
ReplyDeleteHehehe I can totally relate. That is why a lot of my photos for scrapbooking are flowers, nature and landscapes because my two older kids are grown up and married and live 3 hours away and my son, that is still at home is 12 and gives me the hand. LOL. As long as it isn't the finger I'm happy LOL.
ReplyDeleteHaha too funny Kelly!
ReplyDeleteThis is too funny only because it reminds me of my daughter! To get back at her, I scrap those photos, lol. Next time she will smile, lol. My daughter calls me often and says "MOM, why did you scrapbook that picture of me..I look horrible"... My rule is, when my camera is in hand and I'm pointing it your way, your going to end up on a layout!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved your post Kelly...too funny. I go through this with my son...Claudine has not quite reached this phase yet. I think you should definintely do that album!
ReplyDeleteOh my gawd! You crack me up Kelly! Tell S that while she has a beautiful hand she has an even more beautiful face and should let her momma take more pics of her!!!! I do love the pic of her with the camera up to her face...its really cool. Thankls for the giggles sweetie! Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh that's funny. And she's so pretty, she should let you take her picture! At least it wasn't the obscene gesture! You could scrap the one of her with the camera though. . . something to work with there!
ReplyDeleteHILARIOUS, Kelly!!!! I feel your pain, my friend! I, too, have gotten "the hand" many times and have to make an appointment for a photo shoot! LOVE this post (I know.....there's not a post on your blog that I don't love). It MADE MY DAY!
ReplyDeleteToo funny, Kelly! I have one of each - my son either runs at the site of the camera or makes a goofy face and my daughter jumps into EVERY photo with a big cheesy grin... It's embarassing when a photographer doesn't have any good photos of their own children! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I can relate to that, do some layouts with the hand, she won't like it and you might then get some pics next time for layouts, take care, Doreen x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely histerical, Kelly!!!!! I am still laughing!!!! I know exactly what you are dealing with - I have a 17 year old! We are getting ready to go to Disney World in April - I bet I get a lot of the same shots and will need the same "medicine" that you used on vacation!!!!!!!! Thank you SO MUCH for these giggles!
ReplyDeleteROFL!!!! This is so funny Kelly! I remember doing 'the hand' so much at that age! And we didn't even HAVE digital cameras so you can imagine how pissed my mom was using up so much costly film! By the way missy - got my prize package - thank you so much! And I really loved that handmade card, what a gorgeous envelope and design!
ReplyDeleteHa! Too funny...I really think you should do the mini album!
ReplyDeleteI just love your sense of humour, Kelly! My DD loves the camera, but then hates 99% of the pics after...my DS groans whenever I haul out the camera, but the only one in the family who does the hand thing is hubby! I think you SHOULD scrap her hand album; might make her think twice next time(and I love the shot of her with the camera)
ReplyDeleteI think the mini album is a great idea! Hopefully your DD will pass out of this phase soon. Have you tried bribery???? It often works with younger kids if you pay for pictures. LOL
ReplyDeleteKelly, I laughed out loud about being lucky to get three fingers instead of just one. These pictures cracked me UP! I'm considering myself lucky that my girls are just 9 and 6 yet. Hopefully I have a good long time before they start giving me _the hand_.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles! :)
Ha! Thanks for the giggles!
ReplyDeleteGads you are funny! You've got some serious photo evidence of this 'problem' and I do agree you should present it all in that mini;) Cheers!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I love it..."A Year in the Life of your Hand" - LOL! too funny!!!
ReplyDeleteYes this calls for a bit of scrappers revenge- a mini book sounds perfect. She really is quite beautiful- perhaps you can try to shoot on a timer so she doesn't know it's coming? Lola is only 2 and a half but she's been running away from photos or giving me "the forehead" for about a year now. I usually need a Margarita to get over it too- especially after a big "family" photo where everyone is complaining about the actual photo but then gets angry when I don't send them a copy. Hugs from one shutterbug momma to another!
ReplyDeleteyou should definitely do it.
ReplyDeleteDooo itttt! That would be soo funny!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have missed giggling my butt off over your hysterical posts...work is definitely getting in the way of my blogsurfing!
Hope all is well with you and yours!
LOL....you are sooo funny!!!! I can totally relate to this! my girls are the same...bad hair day, no make up, etc.
ReplyDeleteyou should definitely make that album....she will love that(NOT!!!!!LOL!)
