I hate funerals, but this one was especially tough....because she is a mother, and her two daughters are teenagers. Her younger daughter is my youngest daughter's best friend.
It makes me realize how precious my children are...
Playing with blocks and not driving cars....
Not graduating from high school....
or wearing make-up...
Just sitting on the floor....
...and not walking away from me yet.
I joke around a fair bit about raising children, especially teenagers, but I'm the one with separation anxiety now, and I'm not ready to let them go. I hope they are patient with me....it could take awhile....and a lot of scrapbooking.

Kelly, how sad that is! I really feel for the family. I feel much like you do, except I have gone through the separation of the oldest 2. It is hard, and yes things change, but you know, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I love the photo of you and the kids! What a good looking bunch you are!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a tragedy and such an unfair part of life.. My daughter is only 6 and I'm already wishing she would slow down and stay my baby. Everyday I notice some new independent streak and it breaks my heart :( Hugs to you
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the loss of your friend :(
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about my children as you do about yours, they grow up too fast and sometimes I wish they were little again :(
Oh Kelly, I am hearing too many tragic stories like this... yes our lives are so precious!
ReplyDeleteSuch a precious group! You too Kelly! Sorry about your friend.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sad that it takes something so tragic to open our eyes and make us stop . pause, and realize just how precious life is. Big hugs dear friend
ReplyDeleteKelly. Big hugs. So very very hard to lose somebody, no matter what the age. There is such a big hole where they used to be. :-(
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly - I completely understand that feeling of loss and treasuring all that is precious. My older daughter just graduated from college -- how the time flies. Here is some news that I hope will bring you a little cheer -- you won my dots and dashes stencil!
